The problem with bipolar disorder is that it is the most common disorder that has comorbid disorders along with it- usually substance abuse, anxiety, self-injury (part of PTSD or DID)- you get the picture. You've gotten a lot of great advice, the rage component of mania is huge and it seems a big part of your disorder. Having lived with this disorder my whole life (father bipolar too) I found the best way to find a knowledgeable shrink is to call the local University Psychiatry dept and ask for bipolar experts and get TREATED- mood stabilizers are the key.
