> I think the problem here is that your groups were linked to the email account from the first. When you sign up for groups they ask you for your email address. If you don't give them one they will ask you if you want to sign up for their email and will give you an email account. Personally, I prefer not to give them my main account so I agreed. But I don't see why you object to having their email account. There is no rule that says you ever need to check that account. (maybe once every few months to keep it active - I'm not sure).

Jane,Why do I object to having a Yahoo e-mail? I know, it's not reasonable is it? All I can say is, I'm easily pushed over the edge (!), and Yahoo just *does* it for me, if you know what I mean. There are sometimes these little, bitty things that you just want to blow right the hell out of proportion, and I'm sorry, but this is it!
Seriously, I just hate their stupid little system, I *swear* to god in heaven that I could not sign up for Groups without a Yahoo e-mail. And if somebody like me, with greater computer savvy than 95% of the population, and an IQ which is nothing to sneeze at, either, cannot log on with total ease, it says something about their system.
I acknowledge, it's probably irrational.
(Sar, *say* something!)
Thanks, Jane & Greg,Wendy
