Shar is right. It is significantly less than transparent. And a sharp contrast to the spirit of the offer to discuss reducing Larry's block. It is only "fine" in the sense that I can't get myself to expect much more. Failure on my part: "fine" = i gave up.
Where you write "If I'm open to it": a big determination happens right there which preempts a participatory process and transparency.
Can we make this process more accessible?
Can we make it a process? What category did Larry fall under that admitted his case to Admin board overview, especially in contrast to the cases not similarly so disposed?
Did some comparing of sentences come into play?
Was there any consideration, by you, Dr. Bob, that Larry's block was less than justified for its length?
If you had come to feel Larry's block was too extensive:
1) How and why?
2) Would you have told this to Larry?
3) Shouldn't you have told this to Larry?
4) Should Larry receive an apology? How open are we (really you) going to be able to have these proceedings?
thanks,
~ jim
