Hi.It has been proposed that abnormal activity in the temporal lobes, perhaps initiated by events in the limbic system (particularly the amygdala), might be involved with social anxiety and panic attacks. Such things have been seen in people with temporal lobe epilepsy and lesions in these limbic areas. It is thought that Neurontin might help these forms of anxiety by stabilizing temporal lobe activity.
