Some people experience a temporary improvement when they discontinue a medication. This is called a rebound improvement. It is difficult to say how long it may last. Maybe a week or two. Alternatively, it may be that Effexor was actually making you feel mildly to moderately worse without your realizing it.

Whatever it is that has you feeling better, I hope it continues.
