Ideas:
-Exercise more: maybe even wear yourself out so you can sleep? (I know, insomnia's more than that, but it may help), I found it helped cut the symptoms of withdrawal
-meditation to calm your brain (when I get insomnia I usually have to try and shut my brain up which just keeps telling me worrying things)
-vitamins: check out rabble_rouser's post on which ones
-drop down dose more gradually, but since you have side effects from being on the Effexor, you may not wish to, but many people find it gets rid of the withdrawal completely
-Benadryl or Claritin have both been found to be good for others
