i mean, newspapers and so on still don't credit or acknowledge the photographer or illustrator or artist.
often times 'news' articles don't even state the author.
i think often times con-munications are handed to people universities hire on payroll as academics by the media or con-munications department of the university.
there was this thing i saw briefly mentioned...
something about a university being liable for things stated by the academics on staff. such that the university should be able to censor them. to limit their own liability...
vs the university being able to... deploy people. e.g., the university informing shawn hendy that he was not to be teaching first year bio-mechanics to the medical studnets (who are cheating their course work and examinations) but rather he is to be now employed in a sort of epidemology modelling centre including explaining graphs and the like in the new-shortland-street-1pm-bloomfield-timeslot...
...
i thought he might like to work with rocket lab?
?
?
kinds of academic freedom...
