I agree.
We spent three weeks driving around England, Scotland, and Wales. Thinking of the beauty of Scotland and Wales still moves me. My son has heard such stories that he's asked us to go back for a visit, and my husband has recovered enough from the trauma of driving on the other side of the road that he's agreed. But this time north from London first, and the narrower roads of the south after he's gotten used to it.
We visited a friend in the canal area, and were walking around her farm as one of the boats was passing by.
I loved Wales, and Scotland, and Cornwall. I can't stop thinking of scones. And Bakewell pudding.
I can't wait to visit again.
America is breathtaking in areas. But the combination of nature and the long history of man in Britain combines to create a sort of beauty that stirs the soul.
Is it true they've reforested Scotland though? Have they done Wales as well? That road up from Beddgelert to Caernarfon? I know it might be good for the environment, but oh, I hope they haven't.
