I have not tried either. I have seen Youtube videos of Americans trying them and they never seem to like either one but they like the vegemite a little better lol.
I almost bought a jar of marmite the other day at the store cuz they have a small British section at Meijers in their ethnic food aisle. I had been lookin at some vegan and vegetarian recipes (I am not a vegetarian-am trying to add things to our diet that are healthy and I get sick of meat a lot)-well anyways, I saw this one site where marmite was used in making different things.
The marmite on the shelf had an expiration date of Aug. 2008 so I did not buy it, even though I thought that marmite had a long shelf life I did not know if it was ok. It was such a tiny jar lol.
I am afraid to try it, but at the same time...with my strange brain keep obsessing about it wondering if I should anyways, or perhaps I would like it at least in making seitan or stew or something. I would love anyone's opinions on these. The vitamins in marmite (the B vitamins) are supposed to be very very good for you. It is supposed to add a hearty flavor to soups, stews, and other things. I just don't know how true this is lol.
:)
Happy HAPPY SUNDAY
