I wish you had kept shillings, too. And, really, didn't you have an English system, with everything in multiples of 12? Sixpence and all that? (I was hoping to find a sixpence to put in my shoe when I was married, but no joy.)
Nickels are five cent pieces, and dimes are ten cents. Then we have quarters, for twenty five cents -- a quarter dollar. It's harder to find them, but there are also half dollars, and dollar coins.

From top to bottom, that's a Quarter, Nickel, and Dime. And don't think generations of children haven't experienced great confusion about the fact that nickels are bigger than dimes, but are worth less...How's that? Almost like being there, huh?
