Sorry about your kitty. I'm an animal person and that would break my heart if it happened to one of my cats. I think that it is sweet that he went by you to die. Sort of like he wanted to be close to you. I would suspect that he didn't suffer b/c if he were, he would have been making noise and you would have woken up.
How did your kids take it?
