I have to tell you, I admire your attitude about it all. I had been really down ever since all of this started. REALLY down, but your post has brought out the "kiss a** and take names later" response I usually have.

I did hear from Medicare today. (They did turn my account over to collections-but I have a 300.00 credit, they are soooo incompetent.) Anyway, they did credit my account 160.00 so far. They overcharged me for what MC had already paid, and MC didn't like that too much. LOL!

At this point I'm not even sure I want an attorney. To hell with all of 'em as far as that goes. Maybe I'll do what all those people on Lifetime do and represent myself. It may be worth it to get to do the cross-examination.

I'm really glad that you have the outlook on things that you do, it shows just how much strength you really have.

Keep me posted on how it goes please?

My Pdoc did tell me that they don't take complaints very lightly, if that tells you anything.

Thanks again for the boost to my spirits.

Frankly, I would welcome a lawsuit (in my case), giving me the opportunity to stand before a Judge to tell them personally, with ALL THE NECESSARY DRAMATICS, just how badly I was treated and just HOW DAMAGED I am today. So, let the bastards sue you, if they dare, but they know better so they won't even go "there," so to speak. Remember, you are the "David" fighting the "Goliath" and the judicial system don't like those scenarios.

The last one I spoke with actually told me it would be a conflict of interest for the fact that they represent doctors at times, and it may upset them. Or.... they want this huge retainer, something a person on SSDI (disability) can't really afford with a family.

> Typical lawyer jargon meaning: if the case isn't a "deep-pocket" one, then they ain't interested; however, I did get a big laugh re. the "conflict of interest" bullcrap. It's a conflict of interest if, and only IF, that particular lawyer had that particular doctor as a client. "Conflict of Interest" clauses are not global, blanket statements. They have to be specific. It's like the lawyer saying, "Well, I can't sue Aetna Insurance Company because I have car insurance with GEICO." The fact that the lawyer may have had "some" doctor in the past as a client (probably to collect a debt) doesn't automatically recuse him from suing OTHER doctors, sheesh. Consider it a blessing you didn't retain this jackass. And something else: in a personal injury lawsuit, it's usually done on a contingency basis meaning "no up front fees" and they get 33 percent of the proceeds. The lawyer idea was a bad one from me: I apologize. I have little use for those money whores, also.

I'll tell you something else: if you feel wronged by the system, then don't give up. Fight! Fight with all your might, even if it means a sacrifice, and hardship. People *do* and *will* listen, and there are a lot of good people out there, like us, who have been burned by a sloppy, incompetent, ineffective system that would stay that way if it weren't for the stamina of those who want to change it.
