I think most therapists don't know what they are talking about. They should listen to themselves sometime. I've seen some before, but not for my neurological situation, and I never will. They are either too pushy or too lackadaisical. They are too opinionated and indirect. I have trouble with opinions a lot, thank- most of them here I can relate to. I believe I can get by without one. I have a very good pdoc. I think I got lucky because the first one I was referred to is working out extremely well.
I don't know if that is the support you were looking for, but I support any decision that you feel is in your best interest. You can always change your mind...
