Other than the common causes of elevated prolactin that you already mentioned, I don't know much about it. I am strongly convinced though that the hormones...cortisol, prolactin, etc...are all tied together in the central nervous system and neurobiology like an orchestra. If something is wrong in the neurobiology, something will probably be wrong in one or more of the hormones, and vica versa. They all interact through feedbacks and receptors and cause/effect. Knock one out of whack and it has to affect something else downstream. I have zero clue what would be knocking the prolactin out of whack. Sorry about that. My best guess would be that it is a clue something is whacky in the dopamine department, and that could be way off base, just don't know. The only treatment I am aware of is dopamine agonists.
