Maybe it's a boy thing. I was more like you and my son sounds a lot more like your son.
My son dreads homework and at his age there is plenty of it.
I'm not sure if it's worth worrying about. But then again, I tend to err on the laissez faire side of child rearing (I certainly have no other models to go by) so maybe I'm wrong.
I think playing with friends is great. I do tend to worry about the computer/video games though. Maybe they'll outgrow it. My son has moved more towards IM chatting so even though he still spends hours on the computer I don't mind as much. After all, what do I do on Babble :)
