I was taking high doses of several supplements. Now I'm not. It was time to reorder several of them, and I thought to myself: seriously? Plus, I realized that part of the reason I let myself go so much (in addition to medication-induced apathy and social isolation) was that I had all these supplements as a back up. Eating junk? Hey, I take 10 grams of vitamin C a day! Gimme another hamburger!
So...I'm back to square one in terms of supplements. I think I'm keeping several of them, but I'm going to rethink and then adjust the doses.
This is roughly what I'm either taking now or thinking about:
(1) Biosil--as directed (2) vitamin C--4 grams (3)vitamin E+seleium--1600 IU and 400 micrograms, respectively (4) green tea extract--1.5 grams (5)optizinc--1 30mgs capsule (6) b-100--1 tab, 2x daily (7) taurine--2 grams (8) niacinamide--3 grams.
OK, yeah, that's still A LOT, but I was taking some fairly massive doses (3 grams green tea extract, 6 grams taurine, 10 grams vitamin C, etc.) before, so this is a step in what I think is the right direction. Now that I'm not taking all that much daily (biosil, zinc, and some random other stuff), I find that I'm paying more attention to my diet. Also, my stomach doesn't hurt as often.
