What you really want is a "biological dentist". They specialize in safe removal of mercury from the teeth. Try doing a google search on biological dentist new york. I found mine that way. Awesome folks who blow mainstream dentists in the weeds in every way...expertise, knowledge, skill, mannerisms, and patient care.
But even with a mainstream dentist, the important things are these:
They use a rubber dam.
They use an assistant who keeps a strong suction tube at the site of the tooth to catch most of the vapor and dust.
They put activated charcoal in your mouth and under your tongue to absorb stray mercury.
They put a net over your face to prevent stray spray from landing on your skin.
They themselves wear chemical gas masks.(their option...if they don't then you know they don't take mercury seriously...my dentist and assistant looked funny when they put their gas masks on, but it sure reminded me of how serious a threat mercury is).It would be a half day drive for you, but I recommend with all my heart and strength a place called Groton Dental in Groton Massachussettes. You want safe removal of fillings, they are pros beyond pros. Each tooth was about $300 to have mercury safely removed and replaced with white. They also offer free seminars on supplements, chelation, and special diets for special needs. Not your run of the mill dentist office.
