Yeah, echoing what TenMan said, I would avoid the cod liver oil supplements altogether because they contain (obviously) animal derived vitamin A (retinol?) which is toxic if you get too much of it. One of those antartic explorers died of vitamin A poisening because he ate the liver of his husky dog (eeuuooww). But obviously cod liver oil is fine as long as you don't take more than what it says on the bottle. (And you don't go about eating huskey liver!). I'm not sure how it fares on the 'screened for polluants' front through.
