Magnesium Causing Histamine Release

Posted by Tooooja on March 5, 2005, at 3:56:07

I've been taking magnesium citrate 200mg for a week and it's reduced me to a snivelling, sneezing, snotty and headachey mess.

I don't get it, I thought it was supposed to help with histamine levels, it seems to have driven mine through the roof. Can anyone help with an explanation?? I am wondering if it's something to do with my high calcium levels, as I have sticky joints and dry skin at the moment from the calcium in a copper supplement I was taking. The magnesium helps unstick my joints but the sneezing etc is doing my head in. Is it possible the mag is making the calcium more bio-available and this is causing the histamine release?
