They seem to be having a nice effect. Energizing & upbeat without being wired and anxious. I am wondering what they act upon and if the doses that I am taking are too high or if I need to take a break from them from time to time. I would greatly appreciate any info.

It may be wise to take breaks from this supplement regime, something on the order of three weeks on, one week off, as the body has an innate tendency to adjust to stable changes in its environment. That adjustment would reduce the effect of the supplement over time, and taking breaks from it would serve to inhibit adjustment to the constant intake.
I'm very glad this is working for you. Irritability is one possible sign that you might need to take a break from it, as well.
