In reply to INOSITOL! does it increase anxiety to start with?, posted by clairey on December 29, 2003, at 15:40:06
Inositol is found linked to other B-complex vitamins, and does a "waltz" with B4 which is Choline, to arrive at a balance. I would intuit that dehydration by whatever means will cause more anxiety than Inositol ever could.
B3 which is niacin, can cause anxious moments for 10 to 20 minutes after taking 400 mg. Niacin is a vaso-dilator, so you turn beet red.
Inositol is used up in the assymilation of mega vitamin C dosing (10 grams or 10k mgs). Choline is used in the firing of muscles, so excess exhaustion and exercise can get you on the wrong side of a balance between Inositol and Choline.
A B-complex pill is usually balanced against itself, but not balanced for someone who is not a couch potato. B vitamins are readily processed by the liver and end up as "Yellow River", especially in megadoses.
