Hi rianny....well, it does cost a bit more, but in honesty, I have more success with combining herbs and amino acids with my small dose of Prozac and clonazepam. I *always* use about 1/3 or so of the recomended dose of a herb/amino acid to avoid reactions like serotonin syndrome. Right now I use a small bit of 5-HTP and D,L Phenalynine(sp?).

But...back to the vitamins, yes I know it does cost a bit more. But you only have to do it once, and try to do some research on the internet as to which one you think will help. i.e. B6 for sleep. As I mentioned, I can't tolerate folic acid or B-12 mega doses because they cause a manic-like reaction in me.

I'd suggest to explore all of your 'complimentary' medicine options, including both amino acids and various herbs. Even if you took them with a small dose of a med you can tolerate, (Besides the MAOI's...which interact with almost *everything*), I really think you'd be quite surprised. Maybe get a book on the topic from the library, or search around the internet. You will find lots of people having much success.

BTW..are you on any meds...and if so...are you looking to eliminate the side effects and/or boost the medication's power with complimentary suppliments? Let me know...and yes I think this is a good way to use them, hence the word 'complimentary'. Some people seem to think it has to be either/or, but in my basic research, the former 'complimentary' seems to be one of the best strategies.
