Lyrica is sometimes used in the USA off-label for treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). However, it was rejected by the USA FDA in 2009 for this indication when used as monotherapy. I'm sure that Lyrica exerts anxiolytic effects early in treatment. However, I am not so confident that it represents a long-term answer for most people.
