I've read that about TCAs too. I think there was some speculation that drugs that work on more than one neurotransmitter may be less likely to poop out. So SNRIs would be less likely to stop working than an SSRI. And if there is poop out, augmenting with a drug that has a different action, like adding bupriopion to fluoxetine, might help alleviate it. I think the notion of downregulation might come into play here, but I'm not sure. That stuff is over my head at this point.
