I told her to get her thyroid tested. Who else would do that but a doc! I also said not to accept low normal as okay since many docs are not up on thyroid. Meds like nardil can mess with your thyroid. If she can't lose weight and she's cut her calories in half she has to do something as weight is a health hazzard!! Many p-docs also routinely add 10 - 20 mcg t3 without any ill effect.
