thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it!!
I guess, I should try the yogurt and if that doesnt help in a few days, go to the gyn.. (how embarressing) but, I cant deal with the pain anymore. Its ridiculous. This is the second yeast infection i have ever had and Im 32. So, I guess I shouldnt complain. But, now, its like urine is acid.............how awful is that.........
:(

Ah. That burny feeling.
Maybe you have a urine infection???
I don't know.
Antibiotics tend to cause thrush
But then if you have a urine infection then you need antibiotics...
Time to go back to the Dr?

Actually GO TO THE DOCTOR AND THAT IS AN ORDER ;-)
Well... A friendly one, I hope you get what I mean. The first time I got thrush I was 14 and terrified - I had no idea what it was. I put off going to the Dr for so long I could hardly walk. I am not kidding. And it took a long time (well, about a week) to clear up because it was so bad and I couldn't resist scratching because it was so damned itchy. But yours doesn't sound very pleasant either. Please go to the Dr. Please.

I agree: see a doctor AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. And take something for the pain in the meantime, if you can.
If it is a yeast infection, it will probably get worse without proper treatement. And once the yeast is in there it multiplies very fast. A serious yeast infection is VERY hard to get rid of. So don't delay!
If it's a urinary infection you will probably need antibiotics to get rid of it. If you have both a bacterial and a yeast infection, then you will probably need antibiotics AND something like diflucan.
Seeing the gyn is rarely a barrel of laughs, but better than the alternative.
Hope you get better soon.

wOOLAV,
Also try sitting in yogurt. Really, I mean it. Put some PLAIN yogurt on a paper plate or something and sit on it for about 10 to fifteen minutes (minus underwear of course).
Wipe a little off but leave a little on as well and wear a pad or panty liner the rest of the day. This has worked for me in the past.

I'll try eating and sitting in yogurt :) sound like fun....before I go to the doc. I'd rather get rid of it naturally. (and I dont think its a urinary tract infection, bc anti-biotics are what caused the yeast inf. in the first place...
darned antibiotics!!!! grrrr

I have had more than my share of these beauties and have finally learned that taking a probiotic supplement that includes acidofolous on a regular basis really helps stave off yeast infections. I also found a product called Candex that breaks down the cell walls (really???) - who knows what is really working, but something finally is.
I knew it was really bad when I would have a couple of cocktails one night and wake up the next morning with a yeast infection. Too much sugar! So I have changed my diet too.

Yeah. Too much cheese tends to give me thrush.

First, I'm glad you're feeling better now. Here's a link that I found helpful about a month ago when I experienced the misfortune of such a situation after taking antibiotics. (I have to premed before any dental work due to having Mitral Valve Prolapse).

(Scroll down for remedies)I'm a recovering hippie anyway, so none of this stuff seemed that weird to me. I went with a combo of (eating!) yogurt, drinking cranberry juice, and....ummm, utilizing garlic cloves. Worked like gangbusters.
Considering all the psych meds I'm on and the myriad of specialists currently on my payroll, I preferred not to see yet another doctor for pills to fix something that could potentially be fixed at home. Unfortunately, I consider the doctors I see no more than people I must pay for their autographs to obtain the chemicals I require to live more comfortably. :-) Thankfully, I was able to handle things naturally in this case; which is the manner in which I wish I could do everything.
Still, I hope this information might help someone, either now or in the future.
This is the end of the thread.
