And not just for the critters, either. I actually got to eat a couple, and I gave a couple to my mom, who was impressed. And there are more. More. MORE! Bwaaahaaaaahaaaaahaaaa. :)

Yea me! (pat pat pat pat)

Great Job!

Tomatoes are my favorite thing to grow! Nothing like a fresh tomato sandwich. I have beefsteaks, roma and yellow pear. But the slugs got to the bushes, so I only have the ones that plant produced before the slugs killed the plant. If I could eat fresh veggies like this everyday, I could easily become a vegetarian.

Now if you can figure out brussel sprouts, then that would really impress me! I have tried for the last 3 years and they just won't grow, even from starters.

Good job GG! Now if you get too many to eat, just cut them in two, squeese out the seeds and freeze them for cooking. Or make pasta sauce!

Hi GG,

Big air pat on back. Yeah, I know I need to work on my body contact issues.

Yum! There is nothing as wonderful as home-grown tomatoes. They just can't compare to those wooden red things we're forced to buy in the grocery stores.
I'm envious. Enjoy!

Thanks! I've got Better Boy and some kind of beefsteak. So far I haven't seen a real difference between them. I've got them in large containers, and boy oh boy are they tall. :)

Thanks for the tips for uses. I've been having lots of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil, and also bacon and tomato sandwiches. So so so good to have them so fresh. :)

I can't help with brussel sprouts. I've never tried any other veggie, just the tomatoes and herbs besides my flowers. I don't have a whole lot of sunny space--way too many tall shade trees. The tomatoes are actually in the midst of a perennial border since it's away from where the squirrels hang out and is one of the sunniest spots.

Slugs, ugh. I'm lucky that I don't have a slug problem, but aphids and mealy bugs are big here.

Happy gardening! Isn't it great to be able to sit back and look at your garden, knowing all the work, care, and planning you put into it and remembering how it felt? :)

Thank you! I do remember how hard that is for you, so it means a lot to me. Gosh, it's been too long, you know? :)

Thanks. You're right about the store bought ones. I usually bite my lip and spring for the ones that are still on a vine. They seem a bit better, but I hate the price.

Wish I could send some to you, but I suspect you'd get tomato soup instead. :)
