Name one thing about your appearance that you are happy about.
I'll go first. Um.
Wait, wait, no, that's not it.
Er...
I have nice fingernails.
That's about as far as I'll go today.
How about you?

Good topic. :) But I'm surprised at how difficult it was for me to think of something.
Back a few months ago while I was dancing (ballet), I had great calves. Very strong and lean. Then I got an injury and have stopped.. not so nice anymore. I've put on weight all over and yuck.
But let's see.. I guess I can say I like my hair color. Just the color.. but that's something, right? My hair is a medium brown with red and blonde highlights (natural) that I just really like. Now maybe one day I'll learn to do something with it... :)

I have relatively nice skin and always have. Few pimples even in my teens. I tan as soon as I look out the window and rarely burn. My skin rarely gets too dry or too oily. I have only one wrinkle that I know of - and it's more of a crease.
(I won't mention the skin tags or moles.)

Well, my battery died today and I can't get some of the grease out of my fingernails from messing under the hood. So that's out.
Ankles! I have really skinny ankles. One time I tried on a pair of shoes with ankle straps and the sales girl started to say 'these make your ankles look really thin' and then she saw she'd have to punch a new hole in the strap - about 2 inches from the smallest setting.
Ok, it isn't much. But it's better than nothing.

Despite everything negative I can, do, and will say about my physical appearance, I like several things about the way I look. Even at this weight. But I can only pick one?
OK. I like the shape of my fingernails. The nailbeds are a lovely oval shape, and I think it's very attractive -- exactly what I think is the most attractive shape for fingernails.
(And CS? Thank you. Great starter thread.)

I also like my hands...
I'd say I'm fascinated with them in fact. I think they are very well made and they look a lot like my mother's (so I got the "good" hands). They type, they draw, they paint, they pet my cat, they say hello, they can play guitar (I still haven't figured out how they do that), they write..they are so cool.
ok now...that is really strange of me isn't it?
you'd never know about my weirdness except for this question

I like the appearance of my manly, sexy chest. Soft brown chest hair. Soft little nipples. Nice broad, muscular shoulders. Good looking pecs. Fair skin; soft and warm to the touch. Mmmmmmmm.

I like my wrists. I think God didn't hear my message correctly --- I was really asking for thin thighs but wrists will have to do. Oh well.
But yes, this was hard. I can rattle off a million things I love about my children. But to look inside myself and all I can come up with is thin wrists? And I used to have good complexion until I started going to therapy. Instead of visiting the dermatologist, I go to therapy.

A Babbler with beautiful hands and nice fingernails with perfect oval nailbeds! With awesome medium brown hair with red and blond highlights (except when he/she takes the wig off and exposes their smooth shiny head).
Let's not forget the thin wrists and ankles and strong legs or the gorgeous feet! Or that skin that looks 10 years younger in sunlight, but always tans and never burns.
And wonderful eyes, let's make them green and a really nice sometime smile. Do we leave the soft chest hair or shave it? LOL

My green eyes! I just wish I didn't have to hide them behind glasses. Can't wear contacts any more. :-(

When Daisy and AllDone and I went out over the weekend, I bought a magnet with the Peanuts character Marcie on it. She says, "Some of us think we look cute in our glasses."
I've got quite bad vision, so I do understand. And, since I have a lot of astigmatism, my eyes and face behind the glasses look squished compared to the rest of my face. It's NOT a good look for me...
But, I bought the magnet, so now I will have to learn to identify with Marcie.

I like my green eyes too, but I'm also half blind and wear glasses that make my eyes look smaller, so you can't really see their color. I can wear contacts, but staring at the computer all day dries them out, so I have to wear glasses at work. I've been told they are an interesting shape, (almond shaped or cat eyes) but I've never really known what they were talking about, they look the same as everyone elses to me. I think it might just be how I wear my makeup.
I also like my high cheekbones, but they don't really show when I'm overweight like I am now. I guess the only thing I actually like with no 'buts' are my full lips.

the subject is physical appearance, as i remember it.
my eyes;
i communicate so clearly with my eyesmy tongue;
sticking it out at people, for fun, or if they do something really a$$holishmy hair;
God blessed me with a mid-light auburn the likes of which i rarely see on others, but for one of my sisters. it is a beautiful color, my hair is long (my curtain, to keep people out) and i have maybe four hundred silver hairs... scattered highlightsmy arms;
i am one strong puppy. too bad i keep damaging my hands.my legs; ditto the strong, very muscular, small ankles, though, and GAK the feet!!!
my ears; just right sized and shaped.
BUT...
I do NOT like other people looking at me. I can feel it. I am used to that, after all these years. It strikes me hard as RUDE!!!!
I like these features for my own appreciation. So I wear pigtails and baseball caps and loose jeans and big shirts.
And speak with my eyes.

I dated a woman who had won three Hopwood Awards (Arthur Miller only managed to win two) who wrote me a sonnet about my eyes. Not just any old poem, I'm talking about an actual, by the books, sonnet with all the appropriate lines and rhymes and meters or whatever that make up a sonnet.
There are few cities where vanity is held in greater esteem than where I live (NYC), but I personally like every line and krinkle on my face and every gray hair (starting with a little patch in my beard). I've earned them, and I ain't gonna deny them or try to hide them.
This is the end of the thread.
