I dated a woman who had won three Hopwood Awards (Arthur Miller only managed to win two) who wrote me a sonnet about my eyes. Not just any old poem, I'm talking about an actual, by the books, sonnet with all the appropriate lines and rhymes and meters or whatever that make up a sonnet.
There are few cities where vanity is held in greater esteem than where I live (NYC), but I personally like every line and krinkle on my face and every gray hair (starting with a little patch in my beard). I've earned them, and I ain't gonna deny them or try to hide them.
