just curious...i sometimes use it as a sleep-aid and it leaves me with a benadryl hangover: a general foggy-headedness...
i'm reading it's an anti-cholinergic, and that causes the drowsiness, interferes with memory, etc. so is there a supplement that might counter the cholinergic effects?
or is there something that might increase the clearance of benadryl from the body?
and i've tried caffeine. it doesn't seem to work very well. and i'd rather not take up smoking again...

I tried dark chocolate. Either it worked or the benadryl wore off...

When I use benadryl (diphenhydramine) as a sleep aid, I usually find that Alpha-GPC or CDP-Choline, or galantamine, in the morning on an empty stomach will defeat the cognitive impairment.
I try not to use benadryl as a sleep aid for extended periods, though, for various decent reasons, the cognitive impairment (and probably impairment of sleep quality, especially in the latter half of the night -- of course, missing sleep entirely is worse) being one.
