Hi Phillipa. i am talking about basic mindfulness meditation which did orignate w. the buddha. all you do is sit in an alert position and pay attention - either to your breathing, to sounds, or sometning else happening in the present. eventually the mind slows and you learn you can manage it. i find it incredibly comforting. and yes it is very good for physical health too.
