blue light therapy: what chemicals/brain changes?

Posted by saturn on September 27, 2006, at 16:07:18

The only thing I really know about blue-light therapy is that it supposedly suppresses melatonin (?).

Are serotonin, dopamine or norepinephrine affected? Other brain changes? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Saturn.

Go to psychedu.org for info on blue light therapy. I just got my glasses in the mail. I'll let ya know how it goes. To wear them 2-3 hours before bed time.

I don't think there is much effect here... I've been depressed for years and definately have not received any change in how I feel after shopping at K-Mart. If this were the case, Walmart might have something to worry about.
