Will there be Zombie side effects, "no-emotion", feel dead, yea no-brain synrome.
Now Zyprexa? i want to know about this too, does this cause zombie side effects?
Is it effective comepared to Risperdal?
THnaks you

Of all the meds I have taken, Risperdal was by far the most zombi-fying, however that may have been increased by all the pot I was smoking at that time... But you couldn't pay me to go back on Risperdal.

Hi Matt!
No, I don't think that you're insane!
What are your symptoms? Do you have a diagnosis?

How many days did you take the Klonopin for?

I took Risperdal for about a year and I was like a walking zombie all the time, I was in college at the time and I had professors talk to me about it, they thought that I was on drugs (illegal) all the time because of the effects. I eventually had to stop taking it for that and a couple other reasons. I wouldn't take it again ever.

I LOVE thorazine. It levels me out. I only take 25 mg and have no side effects. How much were you on and what side effects did you have?
Risperdal made my legs swell up so badly I had to take 3 days off work and keep them elevated - pitting edema.Max

Hi Maxine,
What do you take the chlorpromazine 25mg for?

> Ed.I'm bipolar and it's the best mood stabiliser I have used. One drawback ... I lactate so then I have to stop for a while and restart. But other than that (which is bad because my breast get very sore) it would be my drug of choice. It has a long half life so sometimes I take it every second day. Also at such a low dose i don't have to worry about any movement disorders.
So as a result I use Trileptal and klonopin as my main mod stabilisers. I think there is a med I could take so I wouldn't lactate, but my PDOC says it's not safe. Sigh.

> mattI'm taking Risperdal at a very low dosage (0.25 mg/day, probably eventually going to 0.50 mg/day) to augment my Parnate and counteract some of the negative effects from the MAOI increasing serotonin transmission. At this dosage, I have zero side effects, and it is already lowering my agitation levels subtly but definitely.
Risperdal begins to have antipsychotic effects on positive symptoms probably up in the range of 3-4 mg/day, based on what I've read. It is probably the least atypical of the atypical APs at antipsychotic dosages because it increases prolactin levels about as much as the old style antipsychotics, and it seems to have an unusually high affinity for the dopamine D2 receptor. The latter tends to result in more EPSEs than other atypicals and may be responsible for explaining the excessive zombification some people have reported.
At lower levels of perhaps 0.5-1.0 mg/day, Risperdal is highly selective for the serotonin-2A receptor, with relatively low dopamine D2 receptor occupancy, which is what led to my interest in it. Risperdal is not a terrible drug, but as I indicated, it has some characteristics that are more like conventional antipsychotics than atypicals. I do not believe it has any significant tendency to cause TD, though, even at normal antipsychotic dosages.

Hey Matt
I've been reading some of your posts and I want to share something with you. I was MISdiagnosed with bipolar disorder four years ago. I was put almost all of the medicines that you are asking about. In my experience - they (the drugs) made all of my symptoms worse. Two years later, after transfering to another college, IQ dropping 30 points, losing 25 pounds and nearly losing it completely, I was correctly diagnosed with GAD.
I take Effexor for my GAD and ritalin for my ADHD. I have never felt better. All of the medicines that you are asking about are extremely serious and you should ask your doctor about them - I would also seriously consider getting a second opinion.
I hope that you are doing ok,
Please take care

> Will there be Zombie side effects, "no-emotion", feel dead, yea no-brain synrome.I reckon all antipsychotics can cause the zombie effect. For me its been pot luck which do and which dont. Heres a table of out comes from me if its any help:
Drug Dose Zombie
Sulpride ?? 0%
Amisulpride 400mg 0%
Mellaril 100mg 20%
Stelazine 6mg 0%
Thorazine 75mg 50%
Zyprexa 15mg 50%
Risperdal 6mg 100%
Flupenthixol 6mg 0%
>
> Now Zyprexa? i want to know about this too, does this cause zombie side effects?I would still say its pot luck what and what does not cause the zombi-ing effect on people.
