I've had weight-loss (not a problem 4 everyone!), increased anxiety & agitation, and RLS. These could be attributed to the drug's activating profile & I believe they are not uncommon. Lamictal+Klonopin sparked minor (but pleasant) hypomania. All in all tho' it's pretty tolerable & reasonably helpful for me, tho' seems to work better in combo with Klonopin (no more highs unfortunately).

No matter how anergic, amotivated etc I am, I *cannot* stop moving my legs/tapping my feet. Very annoying.

Jah:

I had this as well on Lamictal. I ended up stopping it because I felt like I had a terrible flu on it and I rather suddenly needed something that would act more quickly, so I was prescribed Depakote.

I'm glad it's working for you, but hope that ends. I also had RLS on Dep. for the first few weeks.

No-one listed the more obvious side effects
of dermatitis, itching, skin-rashes, slurred
speech (loss of word), stumbling.

Generally these are transient. Lamictal takes
a long time to dose and has advantages over other
anti-convulsants in that it is less sedating and
more likely to have an anti-depressant effect.
But you can't have your cake and eat it too,
so you have to titrate the dose really slowly
to avoid a rash. You can raise the dose on
most other meds more quickly.

My daughter is taking it and likes the effect it is having on her ability to take some stress and not get super upset at the little things. She is also experiencing the sweats, a tension headache and changes in her periods. She is hoping these will pass as she is liking the other results. Does anyone know if these side effect subside over time? Thanks, Collette

No, it didn't. That was one of the reasons I decided to stop it. The other was that I never got tired. And when I forced myself to go to sleep, I couldn't. So constantly being awake and having a headache were enough for me to call it quits.

I hope you are doing better on it. I think it can be a good drug. It's AD effects are impressive, in my opinion. Titrating up takes a little patience though...
Take care
Chloe
