Benzo Withdrawal

Hello All,

So I want to stop taking all benzodiazepines as I think they do me more harm than good. I am currently taking 2mg Clonazepam and 30mg Oxazepam. Based on the Ashton manual, I should convert to 55mg diazepam. The length of taper should be at least 30 weeks. How am I going to convince my Dr. to do such a conservative taper? If I tell him I want off, he'll taper over a week or two only. Any suggestions on how to convince him to do it the Ashton way?
