You might want to hold off on the visit to the doctor. Some people do report flu-like symptoms, including body aches and pains, upon discontinuation of SRI drugs like Effexor and Prozac. The pain is sometimes mistaken for myalgia.

The suggestion of taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) might work. People on the withdrawal board use it often with reported success, but I don't know which of the withdrawal symptoms it actually helps with. If you go on to use Benadryl, please post your results so we can get a better idea as to what it can and can't do.

How are you going about tapering Effexor? Perhaps a different approach would spare you the withdrawal effects.
