Yeah, you're being overly dramatic. That part is OK, because that's part of who you are. (I think that's part of BPD, too, though...)

Instead of thinking of how much more awful other people might have it -- those children in Africa might appreciate you doing something for them, but thinking of them to help put your own situation into perspective might not mean much to them -- how about thinking about what you can DO to improve YOUR OWN situation? How about considering how to improve your study habits, so that you can improve your grades? How about getting into therapy, so that you don't go from "I skipped a class" to "I've ruined my entire life and have no future" without passing through any intermediate steps? There are things you can choose to do for yourself.

Or, of course, you could choose not to do any of them. That's a choice, too.
