We only get one week off, but the next class isn't until 4 April, which is almost two weeks.

Nope. This instructor -- not a prof, just a part time instructor -- does not post grades online (despite having a web based tool that many other instructors use, and I believe ALL are supposed to be moving towards using), he does not allow calculators (although he hasn't specifically forbidden us from using an abacus), and it has probably never crossed his mind that some of us are a bit nuts about things like test scores.

Of course, I think he's a bit nuts. Or maybe he just doesn't like me. EVERY homework comes back to me with notes on it like "Let x equal ???" if I haven't spelled out what x represents clearly enough for his liking, or my personal favorite: "Circle your answers!!!" 'Uh, dude? If there's a problem number, followed by "x = 12.4" I'll bet there's not really all that much confusion.' And he's a lousy instructor, too. Nearly everyone in the class is having trouble, because he gives exactly the same emphasis to EVERYTHING. There's no way to know what actually matters, and that's confusing the bejaybers out of the younger students.

But thank you. I will be having surgery next week, so that'll take my mind off the quiz score for a while.

Where are you located? Sounds like maybe not in the US? I'm guessing? If you've already had your break?
