The solution is obvious.
You make research supervisors publish their basic information.
How many students they have agreed to supervise.
The length of time between when the student started working for them and when the student had their thesis accepted in fulfilment of regulations for the Degree.
The number of students who dropped out (and at what point).
The number of students who were failed.Good supervisors should publish these statistics.
Are there any good supervisors?
Do Universities hire them anymore?
The Arts is almost entirely about the money.
Which is, of course, why there really isn't very much of it.
