The workaround is basically that I purchased Office 2013 for my Mac however many years ago. That's the workaround. To purchase a version that promises NOT to update things continually more confusing and shitter... That works okay at the basic stuff for however many years down the track. I could use that to remove the information about who created the document. So now I can edit changes to it using Word365, and I guess that means my advisors will be able to, too. You know, without us needing to take several days out of our lives for training.
I don't mind too much when people get to choose where to invest their money... When people have money to invest.
I read Skinner again... Beyond Freedom and Dignity. I agree with him for the most part. He is right that control isn't necessarily a bad thing. He had a view where it was harnessed for good. Where parents use reinforcement contingencies to try and get kids doing things that are good for them.
Only, the whole thing got hijacked for business interests. How to better exploit the masses by getting them to behave badly. To make short term quick decisions against their interets. To pay ten bucks for Word365 instead of a few hundred for the one you won't have to worry about for 3 or 4 or 10 years.
When people have the option.
Course related costs... I guess people do...
I guess the information is out there.
Of course it's just all low key... You used to (probably still can) buy Office for Home which is of course what you would do if you actually had a family... And the kids just go off to school and play technologically dumb for why they can't spend all their time on these fancy group edited projects and so on... Don't have the functionality for the ever increasing distractions from getting the work done....
