I didn't know anything about the Phillipines, but you got me curious, so I looked them up. Looks like... A big, diverse place.
Wikipedia has an entry on health in the Phillipines...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_in_the_Philippines
It says healthcare ranges from high class to non-existance and most of the burden is taken up by private providers. That births and deaths are often not recorded in the provinces.

It seems like a rather large, diverse, place. Might be a little like asking whether anything like that exists in Russia or the USA or South America...
Starting to get curious about health tourism, I am. This country is all big on eco-tourism... Why the hell haven't we gone there???
This country is... Full of hypocracies... There are signs and advertisements up about health insurance... Checking out websites I have been... The student health service... It becomes clear that it is *supposed to be* cheap care for the masses. That is how we treat our students over here... All the internationals staying in halls... FFS... For 3 or 4x the cost I too could have access to a place that prides itself on professionalism, discretion, and views the GP doctor patient relationship as a collaborative partnership. Rather than sulking that I won't let them record statistics that have nothing to do with my reason for visit. Which they then proceed to grump about loudly in front of everyone in the wait room.
There are murmerings here about how 'privacy' is an outdated notion. Yeah... WHO standards on acceptable standard of living on crowding, humidity, and temperature probably seem similarly quaint. :(
Thinking about your home...
Is the idea... That rich people come and pay their way? Or that rich families pay for people to be put there? Or that health insurance would cover it? Or that... Anyone who wants to can rock up and you fund it... Uh... How, exactly?
I just mean... That parts of the place seem... Developing. There aren't enough homeless shelters in the world. For... The mentally ill... The downtrodden of spirit... The recovering addicts... Those in hiding from people who beat them and make them work and so on and so forth...
I'd say the trouble is more... How you would keep people out.
