I feel more at ease if the demands on my identity are maxed out, then at least it is familiar territory. As in
'Egos are just fictional identities. What's yours is mine and vice versa, I will never let you go.'
'You feel like a vampire, but if you do not exist?'
But all the rest of the time I am waiting, anticipating, second guessing. It is very tiring. Just about with everyone, but not (glad to say) with my immediate family.
It can make anything really difficult, anything with anyone.
Leonard Cohen has been very good value with me. At least I'm not afraid of dying. Maybe I am :)
