Hi gadchik,
It's one of the smaller Hawaiian islands. If one is a thrill seeker, there all all sortsnof trips by helicopter and canoe into the park where Jurassic Park and Piratesnof the Caribean were filmed (I haven't seen the films, just repeatingnwhat I heard). Flying in, the sheer cliffs were lush emerald green.
For glitz and fancy hotels, there is the South Shore. We stayed on the north shore where it was very quiet and the
town was hippie-esque. We didn't need to drive more than five miles a day, and the Nepali Trail was spectacular (!) hiking. The trade winds just started blowing. At night on the north shore there were really no lights to speak of. Millions of stars and that warm wind. I actually loved being on a little dot in the ocean thatnthe wind blew the clouds over. I thought I might be anxious or have island fever, but didn't. I was sad to leave :-)The water is warm enough that I went snorkeling!
Have you been to Hawaii? I wonder if you could take a cruise there. It's pretty far from the pacific coast of the US.
I dig a pony.
