reading depressing books. So Andrea
Barrett is completely non-depressing (to me at least)

I remember when Little Bee came out. I
had no idea about the suicide theme in it, but something about the reviews and blurbs told me to stay away. I think your
daughter's advice is really sound. So I am more positively expectant now than before about Ship Fever. Thanks!I bought it used at Amazon for 1¢. Very silly. Shipping was $3.99. But that's media mail. Who knows when it will arrive.
My last novel was Astrid & Veronika.
There was an unexpected (to me) tragedy in it, and I had to put the book down for months before I could return and finish it.There are a number of fine books I have
just had to use a wise mind and refuse.Where you live, there are umpteen good book shops. Used and new. I really liked your city.
