Aw Cass. That sounds terrifying.
I'm glad you got feeling better.
It wouldn't surprise me that the death might trigger TONS of feelings inside you, due to recent events in your life. I'm glad you had friends who you could get together with.
A few years ago, I was in a car accident (minor, but still traumatic) a few minutes from my house. For quite a long time afterwards, when I'd drive through the area where it happened, I'd feel anxious & actually have physical stuff happen in my body. So I think our body must store emotions which sometimes surface when triggered by something similar to what originally caused them.
I bet that's what happened in this case. How are you now?
