Hey you!!! lol This is Van Der Graaf Generator!!! One of my favorite band of the 70's... Peter Hammil was at the time my favorite songwriter... the music was not top notch , especially live...but they was good enought...I prefer the second generation...the first 1968-1972....Second 1975-1977, Third 1978, they change their name for Van Der Graaf...they lost the "generator" for this last album in the 70's... But you know, Van der Graaf Generator is still an active band, they do a VERY GREAT album last yeat...it's call Trisector... and all the elements of the old group is still their, except for the saxophone...David Jackson, who is the original saxophone and flute player of the band since the 60's, don't participated on that new one... Too bad...because all the older elements was their...Organs...Strong lyrics...

I always find it funny to heard people told they doesnt like progressive music, telling it was over rated, pompous... Remember yes group with Topographic ocean double album??? OR Genesis - The Lamb lies down on broadway album... People was complanning it was overlong and overrated...but it was not the case... the truth is more than 35 years later, we talk about it again ... and they still continue to sell tons of CD's of these albums...

Peter Hammil was one of the first guy who begin to talk and write about the "punk" mouvement and definite the word and it's conception. In 74 with his " Nadir's Big Chance" solo album especially, it was a smooth album but very powerfull for the lyrics.... Funny...a lot of punk groups at the time often hated Pink Floyd but liked Van der Graaf Generator...just because the guy (Peter Hammil) was more a rebel one , but a rebel with high class...anyway ...out of subject! lol

I prefer Genesis... Peter Gabriel was THE MOST BRILLANT guy in the 70's...before in turn out to be a too much world music artist... forget me...I don't like this at all...
