I imagine that was scary, especially when you were alone. It's great you have a CO detector since CO can affect you before you are aware of any problem. It's important that you or someone in your family find out why it went off--if it's about needing to change the batteries or check the power, or if there truly is a CO problem in the area.
If it were to go off again, can you think of anything proactive you could do about it instead of "hoping" you don't die?
