I used to buy bottles of lemon juice at Costco -- *BIG* bottles of lemon juice! -- and put a few drops of it into my water bottles, which I would put in the freezer, then take to work with me the next day. The water was cold much of the day, and the lemon juice made it seem more refreshing.
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to cut back on caffeine, so I started drinking water. Still do -- I buy cases of bottled water at Costco, and go through about two cases or so a week. (700 mL, 28 per case.) It's just plain water now, and I do find it refreshing. In fact, I often find myself looking forward to switching from caffinated beverages in the morning to the water I drink the rest of the day.
You may find that you have an easier time of it once you've had a little more practice. :-)
