It appears that its going to be a grand feast llurps. I go to my Mom's house where we pretty much have the same stuff. We all give her a pass every year for not experimenting or jazzing the meal up. Change is hard for her. When I married my wife she insisted that she bring something for her first Thanksgiving with us. Being a good Italian girl she found it incredulous that bread was not ever served. So when we arrived she brought some fresh Italian bread and roles baked in the neighborhood within hours of our meal. My Mom gave her a curt, "That's nice dear," and put the bread somewhere in the kitchen. We all ceremoniously sat down together and my wife commented under her breath that the roles were conspicuously missing from the table. I was going to be chivalrous and fetch them when she firmly grabbed me indicating that she was alright.

I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and all because one year my Mom decided to stop making the creamed onions, you know those little ones like pearls that are so sweet and mix real well with the stuffing. I must have thrown a fit because they were back the next year despite being as unpopular as ever. But I'm happy. You know, change is hard.

I'll bring those.
