I just mosied (sp?) on over here from Admin after noticing the pretty new picture and wondering as to the nature of the object! Some kindly folks explained it was a Canadian delicacy - a butter tart - and gave me the link to this thread. I wasn't at the Canadian conf so I've never tasted one in real life but it looks good and I just LOVE buttermilk pie. Is it something like buttermilk pie?
Is there a recipe that can be obtained? Or is it sort've like an old secret family recipe? <grin> I think I'm going to stop by Kroger on my home this afternoon and see if they have any buttmilk pies ....

> I made a whole mess'a buttertarts in Summer 2006. Some of them had raisins in the middle. Inspired by Larry Hoover's buttertart posts, and living far from the Canadian border, I downloaded the recipe. With help from him and other kind Canadians (are there unkind Canadians?!?) I was able to refine the recipe until it was 99% fattening and 100% delicious.
