I just mosied (sp?) on over here from Admin after noticing the pretty new picture and wondering as to the nature of the object! Some kindly folks explained it was a Canadian delicacy - a butter tart - and gave me the link to this thread. I wasn't at the Canadian conf so I've never tasted one in real life but it looks good and I just LOVE buttermilk pie. Is it something like buttermilk pie?

Is there a recipe that can be obtained? Or is it sort've like an old secret family recipe? <grin> I think I'm going to stop by Kroger on my home this afternoon and see if they have any buttmilk pies ....

Inspired by Larry Hoover's buttertart posts, and living far from the Canadian border, I downloaded the recipe. With help from him and other kind Canadians (are there unkind Canadians?!?) I was able to refine the recipe until it was 99% fattening and 100% delicious.
